Analysis of a livelihood business model and preparation of an investor pitch deck
Partner Organization: Maitri Livelihoods Services
Year: 2022-23
MyHelp is a tech-based platform created with the aim of providing urban households with skilled, reliable, and trustworthy help at home while generating fair and dignified employment opportunities for home-based caregivers. MyHelp provides professional domestic services to clients such as general domestic help, childcare, housekeeping cooking, etc. MyHelp is a brand housed under Maitri Livelihood Services.
With Maitri Livelihood Services looking to expand the visibility of the MyHelp brand and accelerate its fundraising efforts, it onboarded Samavit to provide support in the analysis of MyHelp’s business model and the preparation of a pitch deck for potential investors. Samavit also supported MyHelp in applying for the Development Bank of Singapore’s grant for social enterprises.
Samavit conducted rapid-desk research to understand the landscape of the domestic help sector in India (including identifying the proportion of the domestic help workforce in the unorganized sector, needs and preferences of house-help seekers, competition landscape, etc.). Additionally, the team reviewed business-related documents (corporate deck, unit-economics model, theory of change, etc.). Samavit used the findings of desk research and document review to develop a comprehensive pitch deck that included the current landscape of domestic workers in India, demand and supply side challenges, MyHelp’s value proposition, MyHelp’s operational model, market sizing, 3-year financial projections/goals, competition landscaping, impact measurement framework, challenges and mitigation strategies, etc.
The major deliverables for Samavit during this engagement were:
- Pitch deck for potential investors
- Completed application for the Development Bank of Singapore’s grant for social enterprises.
