Conduct Training of Trainers (ToT) for women entrepreneurs on business growth through market linkage and adoption of digital payments

Partner Organization: Women’s World Banking (WWB)

Year: 2024

Geography: Maharashtra (India)

Women’s World Banking (WWB) is a global non-profit organization dedicated to promoting women’s financial inclusion and economic empowerment by providing tools that enable informed financial decision-making.

WWB commissioned Samavit with the task of content development and delivering training through one-day workshops across four locations in Maharashtra. Participants included a diverse group of Community Resource Persons (CRPs) from the Umed-MSRLM, who received training on business growth through market linkages and digital payment adoption for rural women entrepreneurs. The workshop introduced an innovative toolkit, “Panch Kadam se Panch Guni Udaan,” and included interactive presentations that focused on market linkage and digital payment adoption for business growth.

The key objectives behind the training of trainers (TOT) of CRPs for mentoring women entrepreneurs are to –

  • Enhance knowledge, awareness, and usage of marketing and promotion techniques to grow the business run by women entrepreneurs
  • Improve adoption of digital payment in their business
  • Enhance knowledge about digital and transactional safety

The content for the business growth toolkit and training modules was developed based on both secondary research and data from WWB’s primary research in rural Maharashtra. Insights from these data sources guided the creation of a capacity-strengthening curriculum for rural women entrepreneurs. The training sessions featured interactive materials and finalized modules to facilitate impactful learning.

Samavit conducted a Training of Trainers (TOT) program for Community Resource Persons (CRPs) to equip them with the skills needed to support and mentor rural women entrepreneurs in business growth. Samavit provided WWB with a comprehensive set of resources, including a business growth toolkit, reports, and training materials such as PowerPoint presentations and training manuals. These materials were specifically designed to aid CRPs from the Maharashtra State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM) in guiding women entrepreneurs. The training empowered CRPs to introduce market linkage strategies and digital payment solutions, helping rural women entrepreneurs expand and strengthen their businesses.
